Kingston have taken media day at Gamescom to announce a bevvy of new products for their HyperX gaming brand, encompassing the budget-oriented FURY line, a replacement for the HyperX Genesis RAM range, and a new Cloud headset.

First up are a set of new HyperX FURY Flash Drives. Targeting gamers who need faster than USB 2.0 storage but on a budget, the drives join entry-level FURY RAM and SSDs revealed earlier this year. In addition to a durable exterior they're also capable of speeds up to 90MB/s read / 30MB/s write and available in capacities of 16, 32 and 64GB (coloured red, blue and black respectively).

Kingston are backing the Fury Flash Drives with a 5 year warranty.

Moving to the DRAM side of the business we come to the ushering out of the venerable HyperX Genesis, at least for the time being. Much like FURY replaced the HyperX blu lineup Genesis is replaced by 'HyperX Savage', which finally features both low-profile aluminium heatspreaders and a black PCB.

Savage DIMMs are due to be shipped later this month and will be available in speeds up to 2400MHz, low CAS latencies and in kits of up to 32GB (4 x 8GB, 8GB being the maximum single-DIMM capacity). These DDR3 DIMMs are compatible with the complete range of current desktop PC platforms including the recently released Z97 motherboards and Haswell Refresh CPUs.

Selected Specifications

Fast: top-performing modules available with low-profile heat spreader
Unique: red, asymmetrical heat spreader sets new trends for PC builds
Quality: aluminium die-cast heat spreader with a diamond cut finish
Design: low profile to fit under oversized CPU coolers
Reliable: 100-percent factory tested
Guaranteed: lifetime warranty, free technical support
Capacity: 4GB-8GB (single), 8GB-32GB (kits)
Frequency: 1600MHz, 1866MHz, 2133MHz and 2400MHz
CAS Latency: CL9-CL11
Voltage: 1.5V, 1.65V
Dimensions: 133.35mm x 32.8mm
Compatible with H67, H97, P67, Z68, Z77, Z87, Z97 and H61 Intel chipsets, as well as A75, A87, A88, A89, A78 and E35 AMD chipsets

Finally we come to a new variant of the HyperX Cloud headset: the Cloud White. Not all white as you might expect, the Cloud White Edition instead makes use of white headset cups and band ends to provide a high contrast between white and black parts. Promotional shots certainly make it appear far less gaudy than an all-white design might be.

The headset technical specifications are otherwise identical to the original Hyper Cloud that we rated so highly. Most importantly the 53mm diameter drivers return, providing a great frequency response and stereo soundscape.

Technical Specifications

Headset:
