LIAN LI has released an important notice regarding a manufacturing tolerance issue affecting a limited number of HydroShift II LCD-S 360 coolers shipped with AMD mounting brackets. The affected brackets may prevent the screw nuts from tightening fully, resulting in insufficient mounting pressure and reduced cooling performance. Units produced after 24 November are confirmed to be unaffected.
Customers can verify their production date via the product serial number and follow LIAN LI’s guidance to determine whether their bracket is impacted. Those with affected units can request a free replacement and will also receive a complimentary UNI FAN SL Wireless as part of LIAN LI’s apology programme. Read full statement below.
Following the launch of the HydroShift II LCD-S 360, we discovered that a small portion of AMD mounting brackets were manufactured beyond the tolerance range. This caused the screw nuts to be unable to be screwed all the way to the bottom, which results in insufficient mounting pressure on the CPU for effective cooling. All units produced after November 24th were not affected.
How to Check the Production Date of Your HydroShift II LCD-S 360
To determine when your HydroShift II LCD-S 360 was produced, please refer to the product serial number on the sticker on the box or on the product itself, as shown in the photos below.
How to identify if your unit is affected
If you purchased a HydroShift II LCD-S 360 and noticed that the AMD bracket nuts cannot be properly fitted into the bracket—as shown in the “NG” photos below—please contact us to request a replacement.
Steps to check your AMD bracket:
Step 1: Take out the screw nuts and bracket from the AMD accessory box.
Step 2: Screw the screw nuts onto the AMD bracket without installing it onto the motherboard yet.
Step 3: Fully tighten the screw nuts and check its final position.
Step 4: If the screw nuts sit lower than the center raised section of the CPU bracket (as shown in the OK photo), your bracket is normal.
If the screws nuts sit at the same height as the center raised section, the bracket may be affected and should be replaced.
