A hotfix containing a patch for AMD FX series CPUs using the 'Bulldozer' architecture has been released by Microsoft for Windows 7. Apparently the threading logic was not optimised for the way the new architecture uses SMT (simultainious multithreading) and hampered it from using 100% of the CPU's resources. While there are not many hard benchmarks showing the performance differences as of yet, there are claims of significant performance improvement in games such as Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3.
A perfect present in time for a Radeon Red Christmas.
