Spiralling costs of Labour in China combined with the international price increase for Copper will see companies such as ASUS and GIGABYTE increase the price of motherboards by 10% and 20% respectively after Q1 2012. The minimum wage for labour in China has risen by 8.62% while the cost of copper has reached $8600USD per tonne up from $8000USD per tonne. This follows price hikes of 5-10% from early 2011 due to material cost and again by 3-8% in April 2011 after the Japanese Tsunami.
