MSI has announced its latest lineup of Intel 800 Series motherboards designed to support the new Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus processors. The range includes models based on the Z890, B860, and H810 chipsets, providing a platform designed to deliver improved performance compared to the current Intel Core Ultra Series 2 desktop processors.

The launch accompanies three new processors in the lineup: the Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus, and Intel Core Ultra 5 250KF Plus. MSI states that its latest motherboards combine robust power delivery, modern connectivity, and user friendly EZ DIY features to simplify system building while delivering stable performance for gaming, productivity, and content creation workloads.

Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus Processors
The Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus series brings higher clock speeds and additional cores, featuring up to 24 cores in a hybrid design with 8 Performance cores and 16 Efficient cores and boost speeds up to 5.5GHz. Compared to the previous generation, the processors add 200MHz to Performance cores, 100MHz to Efficient cores, and 6MB of additional Intel Smart Cache on Ultra 7 and Ultra 5 models, while also increasing Die to Die bandwidth and expanding official DDR5 memory support to 7200 MT/s. Intel claims up to 15 percent faster average 1080p gaming performance versus current Intel Core Series 2 processors, with compatibility maintained on existing Intel 800 Series motherboards via BIOS updates.

New MSI Motherboards

MSI is launching several new motherboards alongside the processors, covering enthusiast, professional, and mainstream users.

• MAG Z890 TOMAHAWK WIFI II - An ATX motherboard featuring PCIe 5.0 support, Thunderbolt 4 Type C connectivity, WiFi 7, 5G LAN, and DDR5 memory support. It uses a 16 phase Duet Rail Power System and includes EZ DIY features such as EZ PCIe Release and tool free M.2 installation.


• PRO Z890-S WIFI6E W - A workstation focused motherboard built on the Z890 chipset with a 12 phase Duet Rail Power System. It offers WiFi 6E, 2.5G LAN, and front and rear USB 20Gbps Type C connectivity in a clean white themed design.


• B860M GAMING PLUS WIFI6E - A Micro ATX motherboard based on the B860 chipset, designed for mainstream gaming systems. It features a 12 phase Duet Rail Power System, WiFi 6E, Intel Killer 5G LAN, and USB 10Gbps Type C connectivity.
