MSI released a statement regarding the trending Ryzen 7 9800X3D damage incident posted on Reddit that used an MSI MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI motherboard. The incident is currently trending across social media platforms, amongst PC enthusiasts and gamers. It brought up same the concerns from the AMD Ryzen 7000 burning incident when it was newly launched. This is the first "burn damage" incident for the recently released AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor which unfortunately was using an MSI motherboard. Recently, we received a user report indicating damage to an AMD Ryzen™ 7 9800X3D processor on an MSI MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI motherboard. At MSI, we are fully committed to the quality of our products and have begun investigating this incident.
Additionally, we are working closely with AMD and are in contact with GamersNexus, which is independently investigating this incident.
