MSI unveils its first AMD AM5 series motherboards for the X870E/X870 chipset, featuring the MEG, MPG, MAG, and PRO series. The new MSI X870E and X870 motherboards feature AI-driven features and the latest technologies including 40Gbps USB4 with Thunderbolt support, WiFi 7, and more PCIe Gen5 SSD slots compared to previous generation motherboards.

The motherboards unveiled today include the high-end MEG X870E GODLIKE which is currently the brand's flagship model, the MPG X870E CARBON WIFI, MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI, and PRO X870-P WIFI models. MSI gave an overview of these motherboards via a live stream below.





One of the key upgrades for the X870E and X870 motherboards is having more PCIe Gen5 SSD slots, having two Gen5 M.2 slots for the MEG X870E GODLIKE, MPG X870E CARBON WIFI, and MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI models. WiFi 7 and 5 GbE is also the standard for the new motherboards except for the GODLIKE model that has dual LAN with 10GbE + 5GbE ports. See the features of each motherboard below.
