NVIDIA has introduced the GeForce RTX 5090D v2, a refreshed version of the 5090D that maintains the same MSRP but features a reduced memory subsystem to meet U.S. export regulations limiting AI and compute performance in graphics cards sold in China.
Apart from the reduced VRAM, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090D v2 shares the same specifications as the now-discontinued NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090D. Several AIB partners have already released their versions, which are available at major retailers in China, though often priced above the official MSRP. As a result, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090D v2 is introduced to the market with reduced VRAM and a higher price tag, all in compliance with U.S. export regulations.

EXPreview’s review of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090D v2 found its gaming performance virtually identical to the RTX 5090D, but noted a clear drop in AI and productivity workloads.
Price Discrepancies
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090D v2 launched with an official MSRP of ¥14,999 (approximately £1,545 / US$2,089). However, AIB partners are pricing their custom models at around ¥16,999 (£1,750 / US$2,369) or higher, depending on the variant.
