This week is the first anniversary of the launch of Blizzard's phenomenally successful FPS Overwatch, and they're are celebrating in style with new hero skins, new collectables and three new arena maps. Plus, if you're not one of the over 30 million people who have picked up the game already, there's a free weekend you can enjoy from 7pm this evening (UK Time).

Eleven of the twenty four heroes are treated to a new skin, and all have a wide array of new loot to pick up from the holiday Loot Boxes including voice lines, sprays and even dance emotes. But be warned, these special loot boxes won't be around for long - the anniversary event runs until June 12th. If you're not lucky enough to pick up every random item you want from your boxes - acquired by playing or purchased in the in-game score - you can craft them with credits gained from duplicate items.

All the anniversary content is also available to everyone for this weekend only, as Blizzard is opening up the game to all-comers in the EU and Americas regions with a free to play weekend. If the same rules as previous F2P weekends apply only Ranked Mode is off limits, so you'll be able to get more than merely a taste of the game over the next few days. Any progress you make on your account will be save, ready for you to pick up as and when you buy a full version of the game.
