Ever wanted to dip your toe into Rocket League, but never quite found the time? Well there's no better time to give it a bash than this weekend. Psyonix and Valve have colluded to offer Rocket League for free to try on Steam this weekend, and sweetened the deal by offering the game for 40% off until Monday afternoon.

Rocket League is a deceptively simple fusion of football and dodgems. The aim is to bash an oversized football it the oppositions goal with your car, whilst also defending your goal from them. Matches are short, action packed, and tend to be littered with highlight-reel moments.

The game is also supported by limited DLC for cosmetic items such as new car bodies, wheels and decals, but currently most cosmetic items are available just by playing.

Rocket League can be found on Steam, currently priced at 8.99 (which is ~40% off the RRP). It's also available as a four-pack, letting you pick it up for yourself and three friends, and a Deluxe Edition that includes the OST.
