Pre-release GTX 560 Ti benchmarks

Chinese site Chiphell.com has shown a small number of benchmarks supposedly revealing the performance of the much anticipated, upcoming nVidia GTX 560 Ti. Vortez recently reported that the card would apparently be launching on the 25th January, though there still has been no official confirmation of this. The release of these figures suggests however that the card is indeed very close to market, if they are to be trusted.

This comparison chart shows relative performance for 3DMark Vantage (green) and Heaven 2.1 DX 11 benchmark (grey)

You can see from the chart it wins out over it's predecessor, the GTX 460, by around 25%, and is trading blows with the £200+ Radeon HD 6950. This appears to be very impressive, for what we understand to be a firmly mid-range card. If scaling in SLI is decent and pricing is good, it may make even the GTX 580 seem poor value. However, these figures must be taken with a pinch of salt, the real source is unknown and may not be reliable. Never the less, it looks promising for nVidia, they may well once again dominate the mid range.

We should be able to expect pricing to sit somewhere between the AMD HD 6950 and HD 6870, most likely closer to the latter. It is a reasonable assumption that the performance will ultimately sit between those two cards as well, but how close it can get to the HD 6950 will certainly be interesting to find out come the end of the month.

For reference, performance in 3DMark 11 is P4118 and 3Dmark Vantage P20644. Images of those results are available from the source link below.
