AMD Radeon's own continues this week with the release of Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 18.11.1. In addition to Battlefield 5 - the most pressing update due to its imminent launch - AMD have also rolled in optimisations for IO Interactive's Hitman 2 (due Nov. 13th) and Bethesda's Fallout 76 (due later this month). The latter comes in the wake of a beta with rather mixed feedback that highlighted performance and stability issues in particular, so hopefully these drivers can go some way towards ameliorating said woes.
Included in the release notes are ballpark figures for performance enhancements compared with the most recent driver, the most noteworthy of which is an ~9% improvement for Radeon RX 580 owners playing Battlefield 5 Early Access a 1080p. Definitely a meaningful improvement, but of course personal experiences will depend on system configurations.
AMD also have a number of fixed issues, including for the stability bug with Radeon Overlay on a system where the Windows 10 October 2018 Update has been installed. It should also be noted that a specific problem with Radeon Overlay not showing up when running Battlefield 5 on multi-monitor configurations has been identified. So if that's a frustration for you in the coming days it should come as a relief that AMD do indeed know about it and are working on a fix.
The driver is available at AMD.com/support for 64-bit versions of Windows 7 and 10, compatible with AMD GPUs from the 7000-series onwards.
