BlizzCon 2015 - this year's official convention for all things Activision-Blizzard - was last weekend, drawing gamers from around the world to Anaheim in celebration of the game franchises they love. Big news was revealed, including the first public showing of the Warcraft movie trailer and release windows for upcoming properties, and with all this focussed interest it's no wonder that other PC manufacturers were eager to bask in reflected attention.
One such is peripheral manufacturer Razer, who were there to show off gaming hardware to anyone who hasn't yet had a chance to play with their toys. In addition to providing peripherals for demo systems (where attendees could get hands-on with WoW Legion or Overwatch) Razer also used the event to tease upcoming branded items for one of Blizzard's most eagerly-awaited properties: Overwatch.
Razer's Overwatch range will include the Overwatch BlackWidow Chroma mechanical keyboard, DeathAdder Chroma mouse and Goliathus Speed Edition XL mousepad, each emblazoned with the Overwatch logo and burnished orange trim. As part of Razer's Chroma peripheral series both the keyboard and the most feature highly customisable lighting via the Synapse software, in addition to software-based macro functionality and high-end internal hardware.
Naturally Razer aren't exactly new to the idea of officially licensed peripherals for gaming properties. Their current offerings include keyboards, mice and more themed around Call of Duty III, Battlefield 4 and World of Tanks; however their most memorable may be the gorgeous Star Wars: The Old Republic keyboard and mice.
More information including technical specifications can be found at the Razer Overwatch landing page. Sadly neither ETA nor pricing are as yet available, but based on previous brand deals you can expect them to be in a substantially higher price tier than the unbranded equivalent hardware.
