Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have this week confirmed that Rise of the Tomb Raider - the next-gen followup to 2013's Tomb Raider reboot- will be released on PC and Playstation 4 after all. In a statement Square Enix revealed that they would be publishing the title on PC in early 2016, whilst a console exclusivity deal with Microsoft means that Playstation will not receive it until Holiday 2016.
Until now the game had been discussed as an 'XBOX Exclusive', chiefly as it's to be published (and likely partially bankrolled) by Microsoft. Although a launch date of November 10th had been given for XBOX One and XBOX 360 it hadn't been clear that other platforms would even see the title. Although unlikely to placate irked PC gamers, who felt support for the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot on the platform eclipsed that of both consoles, this news will come as some release to fans of the franchise.
