Today, AMD releases an update regarding the highly-anticipated Ryzen Threadripper processors for AMD’s high-end desktop platform AMD TR4 socket. To add to the anticipation and suspense, AMD commenced the AMD Threadripper LN2 Demo at the AMD Tech Day 2017 where some of the world’s top extreme overclockers gathered to test and push the new Ryzen Threadripper processors to the limit and in this particular event – the Ryzen Threadripper 1950X processor.
World renowned overclocker Alva Jonathan, also known as Lucky_n00b was able to overclock the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X to 5187MHz using extreme cooling methodologies with the help of liquid nitrogen. The setup pulled a world-breaking score for the CINEBENCH R15 Benchmark of 4122cb, more than a thousand points ahead of the Intel HEDT counterpart under the same price range, the Intel i9-7900X which were also underwent extreme overclocking with liquid nitrogen done by equally professional overclockers, Sofos1990 and Splave. The submission is currently the highest score for CINEBENCH R15 Benchmark on a single-processor setup.
