The Epic Game Store free game promotion trundles on today with Salt and Sanctuary, the latest in a huge variety of titles that have made an appearance this holiday season. Until 4pm GMT on Thursday December 29th you can claim a copy through the Epic Game Store web portal or desktop app, all you need is a free Epic Games account.

Salt and Sanctuary by Ska Studios was released to very positive reviews in 2016. It's an indie 2D Action/Platformer that draws heavily from both Castlevania and Dark Souls, combining precise platforming with pitiless boss encounters for that oh so rare type of game: a challenging single-player experience.

Unlike its game mechanics Sale and Sanctuary is relatively easy in its system requirements. It was hardly a challenge to hardware even during its release window, and today even basic laptops released in the last few years laptops with iGPUs should be more than capable of running the same smoothly.

This may be the conclusion of the EGS Christmas free game promotion, which was set to run for 15 days with 15 free games. At 4pm GMT tomorrow a new game will replace this one, but potentially with availability extending for the following week. That said, if deals are what you're after, Epic's Winter Sale continues until January 6th.
