The Silent Base series of PC chassis are some of German cooling expert be quiet!s most popular designs to date, and it's pretty easy to see why. A modular and customisable internal layout helps to ensure very broad component compatibility, while still looking every inch the enthusiast favourite. Part of that is offering the option of a windowed side panel to show off system internals, something which be quiet! (and many other manufacturers) tend to do straight from launch.

That being said, what happens if you purchase one of the latest Silent Base 801 or 601 models without opting for the windowed side panel, but then decide you want to upgrade some time later? With other manufacturers you might be out of luck, but next month be quiet! are also selling the windowed side panel for these models separately. The move, echoing accessory options made available to older be quiet! PC cases, helps bolster post-purchase support for the case range.

It's also notable that due to the Silent Base design these side panels can be mounted on the left or right side of the chassis, reflecting the case's optional invertible motherboard mounting configuration.

The Silent Base 801/601 windowed side panels are available from March 12th and will have an MSRP of €39 / £39 / $39.90. More information on the Silent Base PC case range is available at bequiet.com
