Protect your wallets, Valve's Steam Sale is back! This time it's in its seasonal Halloween form, highlighting major savings on spooky titles, and perhaps a few more pounds off recent titles you may have had your eye on.
Although there are many games to flag up as worthy of checking out in this Sale, there are a couple that perhaps deserve emphasising more than others (if for no other reason than the savings you can make).
At 70% off, Darkest Dungeon is a hell of a title with a hell of a saving. This Roguelike dungeon crawler that defies conventional explanations is both atmospheric and hard, but turn-based combat means that it taxes your intellect rather than reflexes. It's priced at just £5.69, or £16.10 for the Ancestral Edition with all the available DLC.
Alternatively, you can give Shadow of the Tomb Raider a look. The latest installment of Square Enix's front-line franchise is due some major updates in the coming months (including integration of NVIDIA RTX features) but has been well-reviewed in its own right. At £29.69 it's 33% off the regular price, or if you already have the base game you could instead pick up the DLC Season Pass for £15.17.
Plenty more great games are also on sale for up to 85% off. However, you should be aware that this is just the first of three major Steam sales you'll be seeing in the next couple of months. Both the Thanksgiving (late November) and Christmas (late December to early January) sales are still to come, so if the price isn't quite right you won't lose out by waiting for a little while.
