Synology has announced the availability of the new FlashStation FS200T, an ultra-compact all-flash NAS designed for home users, enthusiasts, and small office environments. Combining a small footprint, near-silent operation, and flash-based storage performance, the FS200T aims to provide a versatile platform for file management, backup, private cloud services, and light virtualisation workloads.

Despite measuring just 121 x 151 x 175 mm, the FS200T packs six 2.5-inch drive bays and modern networking connectivity, making it a compelling option for users seeking responsive SSD storage without sacrificing valuable desk space. Synology positions the new NAS as an ideal solution for home offices, content creators, and users looking to centralise data management while maintaining a quiet workspace.

Key Features
• Ultra-compact all-flash NAS design with six 2.5-inch drive bays
• Dimensions of only 121 x 151 x 175 mm
• Built-in 2.5GbE and 1GbE networking ports
• Up to 2.5x faster file transfers compared to its predecessor
• Synology Drive private cloud platform
• Active Backup Suite for comprehensive device and cloud protection
• Support for file sharing, collaboration, synchronisation, and surveillance workloads
• Backed by a 3-year hardware warranty with optional extended coverage

Compact Design with Fast Networking
The FlashStation FS200T is one of Synology's smallest NAS systems to date, featuring a specialised six-bay design for 2.5-inch SSDs. Its compact chassis is comparable in size to Synology's 2-bay DiskStation systems while offering significantly greater storage flexibility through its all-flash architecture.

Networking is handled by a built-in 2.5GbE port, complemented by a secondary 1GbE port that can be used for failover protection or link aggregation. Synology states that the upgraded networking configuration enables file transfer speeds up to 2.5 times faster than the previous-generation model.

Private Cloud and Collaboration Features
Running Synology's DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system, the FS200T offers a broad range of software services beyond traditional network storage. Synology Drive transforms the NAS into a private cloud platform, allowing users to access, synchronise, and share files across Windows, macOS, Linux, mobile devices, and web browsers. The platform also supports versioning and site-to-site synchronisation for users working across multiple locations.

The system additionally supports Synology's productivity suite, enabling document collaboration, email hosting, and secure team communication through on-premises services that keep data under the user's control.

Comprehensive Backup and Data Protection
The FlashStation FS200T supports Synology's Active Backup Suite, providing centralised backup capabilities for Windows, Linux, and macOS devices, virtual machines, and cloud services including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.

Additional data protection features include system-wide backups, immutable snapshots, off-site replication, and support for 3-2-1 backup strategies. These capabilities help protect critical data against accidental deletion, hardware failures, ransomware, and other threats.

Centralised Management and Monitoring
For users managing multiple Synology systems, the FlashStation FS200T supports Central Management System (CMS) and Active Insight, allowing administrators to monitor system health, backup status, login activity, and overall performance from a centralised dashboard.

Synology also notes that the system is validated for use with its own enterprise-grade SATA SSDs, helping ensure long-term reliability and consistent performance.

Availability
The Synology FlashStation FS200T is available now through Synology's worldwide network of partners and resellers including the Synology Amazon Store. The NAS includes a three-year hardware warranty, with an optional two-year extended warranty available in select regions for up to five years of coverage.
