Synology launches DiskStation DS3617xs powered by a quad-core Intel Xeon-D 2.2 Ghz processor with burst speeds of up to 2.7 Ghz. The Synology DiskStation DS3617xs is a 12-bay NAS server scalable up to 36 drives. Its powerful processor enables the DiskStation DS3617xs to deliver over 2,358 MB/s sequential throughput reading and 406,760 IOPS reading using RAID 5 configuration with 10GbE Link Aggregation enabled. The DS3617xs has a single PCIe 3.0 slot that supports a high-speed Network Interface Card (NIC). Synology’s Product Manager, Michael Wang, made a statement about their new NAS offering below.
