The processor is delidded, cleaned and thoroughly tested by Thermal Grizzly before being supplied with its own warranty. Priced at $1,402.83, the pre-delidded Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 is supplied with Thermal Grizzly's warranty, a test protocol and a USB stick containing temperature test results and a microscope image of the delidded processor.

Thermal Grizzly's specialists handle the delidding process before thoroughly cleaning and testing each processor. The CPU undergoes a functionality test, with the measured temperature recorded and supplied as a screenshot on the included USB stick. The USB stick also contains a microscope image of the delidded processor, providing documentation of the CPU's condition following the preparation process.
Built For Direct-Die Cooling
Removing the integrated heatspreader enables compatible direct-die cooling solutions to make direct contact with the CPU's chiplets, reducing thermal resistance between the processor and cooling system. The resulting configuration is designed to provide lower operating temperatures, higher sustained boost clocks and increased overclocking headroom.
Thermal Grizzly recommends Conductonaut Extreme in combination with its Mycro Direct-Die, Mycro Direct-Die Pro or High Performance Heatspreader solutions for maximum thermal performance. The exposed SMD components on the CPU package should be protected with a TG Kapton Insulation Sheet or TG Shield when using liquid metal.
Important Warranty and Compatibility Considerations
The original AMD heatspreader is included with the processor, but it must not be reinstalled. Thermal Grizzly warns that using the original heatspreader will void its warranty because the height difference between the CPU chiplets and the heatspreader cannot be properly bridged by liquid metal or other thermal interface materials. The TG Delidded CPU AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 is also not compatible with AMD Direct Die Frames.
