Thermalright revives one of its most iconic air cooler designs with the introduction of the Ultra 120 Extreme EVO REV.5 and Ultra 120 Extreme SNOW REV.5. Building on a legacy that dates back to the original Ultra-120 Extreme, long regarded as a benchmark for high-performance air cooling, the new revisions modernise the design for today’s CPU platforms while retaining the classic single-tower form factor.

The Ultra 120 Extreme series has historically been known for its efficient six-heatpipe layout and dense fin stack, and these latest REV.5 models continue that tradition with updated fans and full compatibility with modern Intel and AMD sockets, including LGA1700 and AM5.

Classic Design, Modern Compatibility
Both the EVO REV.5 and SNOW REV.5 feature the same core heatsink design, measuring 132mm x 63mm x 157mm. The cooler utilises six 6mm heatpipes paired with a C1100 pure copper nickel-plated base, ensuring efficient heat transfer from the CPU to the aluminium fin stack.

The updated mounting system supports a wide range of platforms:
• Intel LGA115X, 1200, 1700, 2011, 2066
• AMD AM4 and AM5

Dual-Fan Configuration for Enhanced Cooling
Thermalright equips both variants with a dual 120mm fan setup in a push-pull configuration, maximising airflow through the fin stack.

For the Ultra 120 Extreme EVO REV.5:
• TL-N12-R9 fan delivers up to 85.35 CFM airflow with 2.95 mm H2O pressure at 2400 RPM
• TL-N12R-R13 fan provides up to 83.2 CFM airflow with lower noise at 31.5 dBA

For the Ultra 120 Extreme SNOW REV.5 (white variant):
• TL-N12W-R9 fan offers up to 85.35 CFM airflow and 2.95 mm H2O pressure
• TL-N12RW-R13 fan delivers up to 83.2 CFM airflow with reduced noise output

All fans feature PWM control and dual ball bearings, balancing performance, longevity, and noise characteristics.

A Return of a Legendary Cooler
The Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme series earned its reputation in the mid-2000s as one of the best-performing air coolers of its time, thanks to its six-heatpipe design and large fin array. The REV.5 refresh brings that proven formula into the modern era with updated fans and mounting support, offering enthusiasts a familiar yet updated cooling solution.
