Batman week has ended, and last week's awesome free game promotion from the Epic Games Store has now given way to a pair of fresh titles, available gratis. Any two titles would struggle to live up to last week's offer, but it's notable that the new games will tempt a PC gamer with quite different tastes compared with last week's action-adventure fare.
First up is Metro 2033: Redux, the first instalment of 4A Games' Metro franchise in 2015's updated form rather than the 2010 PC baseline. Graphics and enemy AI were both tweaked for the PC version in addition to some new content. Widely seen as a modern classic, it's well worth a look if you haven't jumped into the oppressively atmospheric survival shooter previously.
If Metro 2033 turns out to be just the ticket then you might also be interested in the EGS Metro franchise sale. 2033's sequel Metro: Last Light is just £3.74, and the NVIDIA RTX-enabled Metro: Exodus can be yours for £33.49.
This week's second free game would struggle to be any more different from its partner. Everything is a 'reality simulation', where everything you see is a thing you can be, and has been described as an exploration of a philosophy through gameplay. This game is to be experienced rather than merely played, and while it won't click with everyone no small number will quickly fall in love.
These free games can be found here, and you can claim them if you have an Epic Games Store account.
