Toshiba Debuts TR200 SSD with 64-Layer 3D Flash Memory

Toshiba debuts its newest entry-level consumer solid state drive featuring 64-layer 3D flash memory – the Toshiba TR200 SSD Series. It uses Toshiba’s advanced 3-bit-per-cell TLC (triple-level cell) BiCS FLASH offering a cost-effective upgrade for consumers looking into increasing their computer’s productivity and responsiveness. The Toshiba TR200 offers transfer speeds of up to 550MB/s sequential read and 525MB/s sequential write and random read/write performances of up to 80,000 and 87,000 IOPS. Aside from excellent SATA performance, the TR200 also feature energy savings with its low power consumption offering increased battery lifespan for mobile devices.
