Toshiba joins CES 2018 and presents its latest mainstream NVMe M.2 solid-state drive series – the Toshiba RC100. It offers powerful yet cost-effective storage solutions for latest-generation PCs and devices with the aim to make NVMe storage accessible to everyone. The Toshiba RC100 NVMe M.2 SSDs use Toshiba’s own 64-layer, 3-bit-per-cell TLC BiCS FLASH NAND chips along with an in-house developed SSD controller in one single package. Toshiba aims to bring affordable NVMe SSDs offering a great alternative to pricier high-end NVMe SSDs. Aside from a great price point, the Toshiba RC100 is also power efficient to maximize the battery life of mobile computing devices.

Performance
The Toshiba RC100 offers performance superior to SATA III offerings without the premium price of most NVMe SSDs. The RC100 also utilizes Host Memory Buffer (HMB) technology to deliver up to 1,620 megabytes per second and 1,130MB/s in sequential read/write transfer rates and up to 160,000 and 120,000 random read/write IOPS3, all without requiring onboard DRAM.

For Mainstream Computing
Given the SATA III SSD-like price point, the Toshiba RC100 SSD Series is ideal to a wide range of mainstream computing devices including gaming desktops, notebooks, mini-PCs and other devices that support the compact M.2 2242 form factor.

Capacities and Warranties
The Toshiba RC100 NVMe M.2 Single-Package SSDs will be available in 120GB, 240GB and 480GB capacities and backed with a 3-year warranty.

Toshiba at CES 2018
Toshiba will be showcasing the new RC100 NVMe M.2 SSD Series along with other products at the Westgate Las Vegas from January 9 – 11.
