Toshiba have announced their new range of 2.5" platter based hard drives. These drives run at an outstanding 10,500RPM and provide storage capacities of 300GB, 450GB, 600GB and 900GB.
The new drives promise a 32-percent increase in sustained transfer rates when compared to previous-generation drives. They also send and receive data through a 6Gbps SAS 2.0 connection. Toshiba have kept pricing under wraps at this point in time.
These drives are obviously superior to SSDs in terms of storage capacity but how do they stack up speed and price wise?
