Valve have been very sneaky and released a feature in Steam to allow users who have pre-ordered a game to do a self-refund if the game isn't up to scratch or they change their mind. Origin and GOG already have a similar feature in place so its nice to see the largest digital distribution platform also implementing it.
If a user wishes to get a refund on their pre-ordered game (we are assuming this is only available before the games release date) they can go to the store transaction page and use the "Refund an item" link to the far right. It's not clear as to where the refunded money goes but its safe to assume that it would go straight into the users Steam wallet.
Unfortunately there has been no official announcement or press release for this so details are still scarce. We will bring you some more information as it is released.
What do you think? Is this a good feature to have? Let us know in our forums.
