XBOX Granted 30-Day The Division Paid DLC Exclusivity

Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's The Division launches today, but hidden a little in the small print and recently clarified is news that the first two paid DLC expansions - Underground and Survival - will have timed exclusivity on XBOX One.

Last week Ubisoft outlined their planned post-launch content updates for The Division, including both free updates coming in the near future, and larger paid DLC expansions later in the year. Underground, Survival and Last Stand are due in the Spring, Summer and Winter respectively, and part of the £30 Year One Season Pass and £70 Gold Edition packages.

Unfortunately Ubisoft are not planning to treat PC, PS4 and XBOX One customers equally. Despite the £30 price of the Season Pass, PC and PS4 users will have two of their three paid DLC expansions unlocked 30 days after XBOX One customers. The move is widely seen as a tit for tat response by Ubisoft and Microsoft to Destiny's PS4 limited exclusivity deals, but that will come as scant comfort to those who have already shelled out funds and expected platform parity.

For now however it appears that free content updates, including the Incursion and DarkZone updates due prior to Underground, will be released simultaneously on all platforms.

Tom Clancy's: The Division is available for PC on Steam or uPlay priced at £39.99 for the base game and £69.99 for the Gold Edition (which includes the £30 Year One Season Pass).
