ZOTAC is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the launch of the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 5080 SOLID CORE OC 20th Anniversary Edition, a special-edition graphics card featuring an exclusive titanium colourway. Based on the SOLID CORE OC platform, the anniversary model combines a compact 2.5-slot design with ZOTAC's IceStorm 3.0 Advanced Cooling, reinforced metal construction and customisable SPECTRA RGB lighting.
The 20th Anniversary Edition also adds a special mirror-like magnetic backplate and ZOTAC's DUO ARGB GPU Stand, giving enthusiasts additional options for both presentation and GPU support. With a 303.5mm footprint, the card is also designed to offer greater compatibility with compact high-performance systems while retaining the cooling capacity expected from an RTX 5080.
Coming Out Of The Dark
The 20th Anniversary Edition introduces a distinctive titanium finish that sets it apart from the standard SOLID CORE OC. ZOTAC combines the new colourway with a mirror-like special-edition backplate, creating a more striking appearance for showcase PC builds.
Robust Durability
The Special Edition Magnetic Backplate provides an additional styling option and can be attached or removed magnetically. Users can therefore switch between the standard metal backplate and the reflective anniversary backplate without tools.
ARGB GPU Stand Included
ZOTAC includes its premium DUO ARGB GPU Stand with the graphics card. The stand features a full-length ARGB lighting strip, rubberised foot and adjustable stop for supporting the graphics card. An additional magnetic stand is hidden on top and can be detached and installed separately for increased stability.
A Powerful Cooling System
The IceStorm 3.0 Advanced Cooling system combines a vapor chamber, six composite heatpipes and three BladeLink Fans to manage the RTX 5080's thermal output. ZOTAC states that the vapor chamber is up to 34% larger than previous models, while the composite heatpipes use a thicker envelope, multi-channel working fluid and grooved wick to improve heat extraction.
The cooler's pass-through structural housing promotes free-flowing air movement through the graphics card, while the BladeLink fan design is engineered to optimise airflow intake and reinforce structural rigidity.
Noise Redefined
ZOTAC has also focused on acoustic performance, with the cooling system designed to reduce unnecessary fan noise. FREEZE Fan Stop allows the fans to stop when temperatures are sufficiently low, while Active Fan Control provides additional control over the cooling behaviour.
Stronger Durability
The SOLID CORE OC features a Reinforced Metal Mid-Frame integrated into the card's overall housing to increase structural rigidity. A retention bracket helps distribute cold-plate contact across the GPU for more effective heat transfer, while the solid metal backplate further reinforces the card.
Power Stability
A 12V-2x6 Safety Light provides a visual indication of the power connection, allowing users to quickly check the connector's status. The card also uses a high-performance power delivery design intended to provide stable operation under demanding workloads.
Shorter Footprint
Despite being built around the GeForce RTX 5080, the SOLID CORE OC uses a relatively compact 303.5mm-long design. ZOTAC highlights this as a 15% shorter footprint than its previous flagship RTX 4090 AMP EXTREME, which measured 355.5mm. The 2.5-slot format and shorter length provide additional flexibility for high-performance systems where graphics card clearance is a consideration.
Intricate Lighting
The graphics card features SPECTRA RGB Lighting, allowing users to customise its illumination and colours. The lighting can be configured through ZOTAC's FireStorm utility to complement other components and system lighting.
A Refreshed Look
The new ZOTAC GAMING FireStorm Utility has been redesigned for the GeForce RTX 50 Series. It provides users with controls for GPU clock speeds, memory frequencies, voltage, fan speeds and fan curves, alongside SPECTRA RGB lighting effects.
