With Gotthard being a top-down design cooler it has the potential to deliver lower chipset temperatures for the motherboard because the fan blows down onto the motherboard. For this test we compared Gotthard to a popular tower design CPU cooler – Noctua NH-D14. As you can see from the results there is some improvement for the chipset temperatures.
