4GHz

When comparing to other coolers, the K2’s brilliant performance under stock loses momentum and fails to match up to the Noctua NH-D14, Phanteks and Thermalright Silver Arrow. Instead, the K2 compares more favourably to the other heatsinks either using a single fan or two fans at reduced speed. Even the much smaller Venomous X manages to pull ahead using only two 120mm Noctua fans. Using two Coolink fans might help the K2 but it can only match the Genesis rather than the other dual tower coolers with their stock fans. To do so, the K2 requires three NF-P14s, even then only managing to match the Silver Arrow rather than beating it. On a positive note, the single Föhn 140 fan fares well on the K2 allowing to outperform several fan configurations based on the Super Mega or Corsair H100. The fact that it can still beat a Thermaltake Frio with fans at 2550RPM deserves some recognition. With reduced fan speeds, the K2 finds itself competing against single tower coolers such as the Thermalright HR-02 and the Matterhorn. Admittedly, we expected better especially when we consider what the other three dual tower coolers can achieve when teamed with low RPM fans.
