Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 is an arcade-style flight action game from Ubisoft. H.A.W.X.2 is DX11 ready and therefore like other simulators such as DIRT2 has stunning scenery and a truly breath-taking visual experience. Using hardware terrain tessellation, H.A.W.X.2 relies on raw GPU power because a series of detailed triangles are required to be rendered. This surely has to be one of the most taxing benchmarks all our featured games, H.A.W.X.2 presents some of the best tessellation execution in any title to date.

The in-game benchmark from the demo was used fort testing. All the maximum settings were used throughout testing. The average FPS was recorded at the end.








H.A.W.X 2 is dominated by the Nvidia graphics card, with the HD6970 falling behind the GTX480 by up to 38%. With tessellation off, the HD6970 leads the HD5870 by 8% but with it on, it leads by more than 40%. Compared to the HD6950, the performance gap is 10.5%.

Overclocked, the GTX480 still held a massive lead. The overclocked HD6970 performed 5-50% better than the overclocked HD5870 depending on whether tessellation was off or on. And compared to the overclocked HD6950, the overclocked HD6970 was ahead by 6%.
