3DMark Vantage

This Vantage benchmark suite from Futuremark introduces DX 10 & PhysX support. Despite being on the verge of DX 11 games arriving, Vantage still proves a popular testing ground for enthusiasts.




The HD6970 fares very well in Vantage. Using the performance preset, the HD6970 outperforms the HD5870 by 12%, the HD6950 by 11% and the GTX480 by 9%. Looking at the overclocked results, the HD6970 outperforms the HD5870 and the HD6950 by 8% and the GTX480 by less than 1%.

The Extreme preset saw the HD6970 take a bigger lead over the three other cards both at stock speeds and when overclocked.

3DMark 11

Finally here is the latest Futuremark benchmark suite, bringing DX11 and tessellation to benchmarkers. Will it bring your computers to their knees?




In 3DMark11, we see a similar trend as before. The main downside is the fact that the HD6970 does not benefit as much from overclocking as the GTX480 and thus loses out under the performance preset.
