Below are a selection of desktop based hardware tests from both Everest Ultimate (Trial Edition) and Futuremark's PCMark05.
First up we see the Everest results - i didn't have a price comparable chip to test against but i've added an overclocked Core 2 (e2160 @ 3ghz) and an overclocked Phenom II (720 @ 3.4ghz) to the mix for a performance comparison.

The i5 soundly beats the other CPU's here - AMD's Phenom II even struggles to keep up with the i5 only clocked to 3.2ghz.
