HTPC Tech Demo – SO-DIMM HyperX 2133MHz OC

Mark Tekunoff - Kingston’s Senior Technology Manager was on hand to show us a HTPC tech demo. Mark Tekunoff has a wealth of knowledge in the electronics and PC industry, both from an engineering and sales perspective. As a Sr. Technology Manager, Mark was involved in the development of Kingston’s HyperX product line from the inception, and has a wide variety of technical responsibilities including new HyperX product development, worldwide HyperX technical marketing support and maintaining close relationships with Alliance partners. He also works with the various departments internally that develop and manufacture the HyperX product line.

At CeBIT he showed us a technology demo of a system provided by Intel and ASRock to demonstrate their new HyperX SO-DIMM kit can be overclocked to 2133MHz with CAS latency modified to CAS 8 using XMP. Clearly showing that with Kingston HyperX SO-DIMMs performance on a HTPC configuration can be modified in such a way by squeezing frequency and lowering CAS timings.

ASRock had to modify their BIOS for this particular demo, so in essence this highlights that Kingston are ready and waiting for motherboard manufacturers to catch up. The below screenshot at CAS 8 was performed in front of our eyes and benchmarked to prove this was no fluke!
