The results have been arranged in terms of the fan configuration that yields the best results for each cooler. However, it is important to take into account that many coolers come with their own fans and changing those increases the costs significantly, so the “out of the box” cooler configurations have been highlighted in red each group.

Stock

Under a stock CPU, the Enermax ETS-T40-AT gets off to a very good start. Let’s start by looking at the different fan configurations. The single stock fan produces the second best result at 1900RPM. With a delta temperature of 31.75C, it is only 0.75C behind two similarly high RPM Coolink fans. Reducing the fan speed to a paltry 1155RPM increases the delta by 2C. Using two Noctua 120mm fans produces a delta of 32C, a mere 0.25C behind the single fan, although quieter as a result. Switching to the bundled Dow Corning thermal paste increases temperatures by 0.5C with both fan configurations.
