Testing Methodology
In order to determine the In Win AMMO external 2.5” hard drive enclosure’s performance, the benchmarks of two software will be used: HD Tune and HD Tach. Both tests will measure the read performance of the AMMO using the USB 2.0 connector. The AMMO will be attached to the given ports on the I/O panel of a Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H motherboard. The AMMO results will be compared to the transfer speeds of the hard drive installed using an internal SATA port. The hard drive that will be used for testing is the Toshiba MK2555GSX 250GB, a fairly modest 5400RPM SATA 3.0 Gb/s hard drive.
