Overall Performance Analysis

The overall performance analysis looks at the relative performance between all the cards on test across all the settings used in our benchmark suite. For an explanation of our benchmarking procedure, have a look at the descriptions on each test page.

The GTX570 is nothing short of impressive at stock speeds. The reference card has a marginal 1.8% advantage over the GTX480 overall and more importantly; it breaks away from the HD6970 by 3.8%. Inno3D’s card, which comes clocked by 9%/5% on the core/memory respectively yields approximately 6.5% better performance, thus closing the gap with the much more expensive GTX580.

When looking at the overclocked results, we see the same trend. Due to the HD6970 achieving poorer relative overclocking speeds, the difference between itself and the GTX570 increases to a staggering 16.7%! The most notable observation is that it does so without sacrificing noise, heat and power consumption. Even when compared to the GTX580, the Inno3D card only lags behind by 5.2%.
