The Seasonic PRIME TX-1600 Noctua Edition power supply unit is massive, measuring 210mm in length which is expected for a PSU of this calibre.
The fan grille of the PSU is different from the standard PRIME TX-1600 PSU. The PSU’s housing also gets a touch of brown with a “Noctua” branding present on the shroud.
On the side of the PSU, a visible “PRIME Noctua Edition” branding is added. This side would be visible if your chassis doesn’t have a PSU shroud or has an opening.
The top panel has a sticker that contain some essential information about the PSU such as the output specifications, certifications and serial number.
The interior end of the PSU is populated with headers given the amount of cables this PSU comes with. Each section is labelled properly indicating where cables go.
At the rear of the PSU is a larger than usual power switch and Seasonic’s Hybrid Mode button. Hybrid Mode is a state-of-the-art digital fan control that enables users to keep the overall fan noise at the lowest possible level. Watch Seasonic’s presentation about the Hybrid Mode fan control in the video below.
Paired with the award-winning Noctua NF-A12x25 cooling fan, the PRIME TX-1600 Noctua Edition achieved a Cybenetics Lambda A++ Noise Rating, the highest score for noise level testing, for both the 230V and 115V tests. This means the PRIME TX-1600 Noctua Edition operates below 15 dB(A) regardless of load. On the contrary, the standard Seasonic PRIME TX-1600 power supply unit only achieved a Cybenetics Lambda A Noise Rating.
