ASUS, ASRock, GIGABYTE and MSI On Core-X Series Microcode Update

Intel together with its partner motherboard manufacturers including ASUS, ASRock, GIGABYTE and MSI work on the microcode update for voltage-based overclocking functionality on Intel’s new Intel Core X-series processors. Affected Intel processors include the Intel Core i9-10980XE, Intel Core i9-10940X, Intel Core i9-10920X, and Intel Core i9-10900X. The new voltage-based overclocking functionality to be integrated with the X299 chipset motherboards.

While Intel has already provided the microcode update to its partners, only MSI and ASUS have given an official statement on the availability of the new BIOS updates for the brand’s X299 motherboards. GIGABYTE and ASRock may not have released a statement regarding the availability of the new BIOS versions with the microcode update but downloads of the new BIOS version are available on the corresponding product page. EVGA is yet to release a statement as well as new BIOS versions containing the microcode update. Read more details below.




ASUS


ASUS released a schedule for the new BIOS version with the new microcode update. ASUS will be releasing two batches of BIOS updates, see schedule below:

1st Batch (December 13, 2019)

MSI


MSI stated that the current BIOS versions do support the Intel Core-X i9 10000 series processors. MSI will be releasing a new BIOS version based on the new Intel microcode that will maximize the overall performance of the Cascade Lake-X CPUs. MSI will be releasing new BIOS versions for the following models below:

EVGA is yet to release an announcement as well as the new BIOS versions with the microcode update.
